The dept of orthopaedic is headed by Dr. Satadal Nath, Diploma (Orthopedics), DNB (Orthopedics), M.Ch. (Orthopedics), Fellowship in Rheumatology and Fellowship in Traumatology who is an established expert in management of trauma & injuries, Joint Replacement Surgery & Arthroscopic Surgery ( KEY HOLE SURGERY ) of the Knee & the Shoulder. Having trained at Gandhi Medical College he joined Bhatia General Hospital, Mumbai under Dr. K. V. Chaubal, M.Ch.(Orthopaedics) Liverpool. Dr. K.V. Chaubal himself worked as registrar under Dr. John Charnley in England who is the father of joint replacement surgery. Under guidance of Dr. Chaubal, Dr. Nath trained in joint replacement surgery and spine surgery in Mumbai. In Bhatia Hospital Dr. Nath also assisted Dr. Sanjay Dosia an eminent arthroscopic surgeon & Dr. Vangsarkar. Dr. Nath joined DNB in Jawahar Lal Nehru Hospital & Research Center, Sector 9, Bhilai which is one of the best centers in central India. Here he got fully trained in trauma surgery and got all round exposure of different types of complicated cases under Dr. Vijay Kumar Bansal, HOD, Dept. of orthopaedics in JNHRC Bhilai. In 2006 Dr. Nath joined fully facilitated dept. of orthopaedics in Balco Hospital, Korba. He started arthroscopic surgery, spine surgery and trauma surgery in regular basis. Having served Balco Hospital for 9 years Dr. Nath joind Shri Balaji Trauma & Super Specialty Hospital in 2015. Here Dr. Nath performed all kinds of surgeries which includes of trauma surgery, joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, deformity correction surgery and spine surgery at an average of 50-80 surgeries per month.
Some indications for Arthroscopic Surgery include pain, locking, instability, giving way, swelling and clicking of the joint. Various surgical procedures include management of torn meniscus, Ligament (ACL / PCL) reconstructions, removal of loose body , Debridement of Arthritic knees, etc.
